About

Started from a surgeon’s spreadsheet.

It began as the Excel logbook a cataract surgeon kept to audit his own outcomes. That sheet did the job, but it lived on one computer, couldn’t protect patient details, and couldn’t be shared with a department or the optometrists who see patients afterwards. This is that logbook, rebuilt to work anywhere and to keep patients’ details private.

Ireland has no national cataract outcomes audit; surgeons and departments audit themselves. The logbook follows the UK National Ophthalmology Database definitions so the numbers are comparable.
